At the end of August 2024, the Executive Council of the Generalitat de Catalunya appointed Jordi Sargatal as the new Secretary of Ecological Transition, one of the sectoral secretaries of the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition. The new position in the Catalan administration of the vice president and patron of the Alive Foundation is incompatible with his continuity within our organization.

For this reason, Jordi Sargatal i Vicens submitted his resignation from the positions of the Foundation, while explaining the new situation and thanked “for having had the opportunity to contribute my vision, time and effort to the projects that we have been developing and I encourage you to continue working on it as well as to maintain the energy and enthusiasm to start new ones.” The Board of Trustees and the technical management of the foundation would like to publicly express their gratitude for the constant push and their contribution to the promotion of new projects.

At the same meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously decided to appoint Mr. David Tàpias Baqué as a new vocal member of the Board of Trustees. Tàpias, with a degree in biology, was founder and president of the Habitats Association for two decades (1997-2017), from which he promoted the Rivers project . Professionally, he is innovation director of the multinational Fluidra. The addition of Tàpias to the Alive Board brings a wealth of experience and commitment that will further enrich the foundation.
Alive Fundació welcomes patron David Tàpias and thanks him for his generosity in accepting this important challenge.

Members of the board of trustees carry out their work in the board of trustees for four years and are eligible for re-election indefinitely.
