Next Saturday, October 19, in the Sala Polivalent of Club Nàutic l’Escala, the documentary “Project Sèpia”, by director Roger Rovira , will be presented, with the presence of some of its protagonists.
This documentary is a unique opportunity to learn more about the work done by Projecte Sèpia in the conservation and recovery of cuttlefish populations on the Costa Brava and, especially, in the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands and Baix Ter. The images in the documentary show artisanal fishing and its environmental, cultural and socio-economic consequences, taking as a reference the experience started by the Sepia Project.
Through the testimony of different people, we discover the existence of real ways to make economic development and environmental sustainability compatible, and convey to us the urgency with which they must be carried out. Taking the concept of “returning to the sea if we want to continue receiving from the sea”, typical of this sustainable fishing project, comes a message of optimism and shared responsibility, a call on the importance of collaborating together if we want to change a destiny which sometimes seems inevitable.
Through the images and stories collected by Roger Rovira, you will be able to discover the efforts and initiatives being carried out to protect this valuable marine resource.
